Bessie Smith

Good lord I am so in love with Bessie Smith lately. Lukey made me the BEST blues mix, and I want to get more into the artists that are on it, starting off with Bessie. She isn't nicknamed the Empress of the Blues for nothing, her vocals have so much soul behind them. I love it when you listen to an artist and get the chills because you can hear how much they feel what they're singing about. I downloaded some of her stuff here if you want to check her out more. I'm sure this is just the start of new blues artists I'll discover, my mom got me an amazing History of Blues book for Christmas, comes with a cd and everything! And thanks again to the Spookster for the fabulous 2 disc mix, it's really special to me. Enjoy Bessie dudes!
