Tuesday night my Brazilian friend Jessica, German friend Tim, Mexican friend/room mate Jorge, and Italian friend Vanessa went to watch Metropolis, a German film from 1927 that was going to be accompanied by a live orchestra, buuut it cost 16 euros, not 6 like we had thought, so we went to the Cinema bar around the corner instead. But it sounds really rad and I want it to be known that a cool event like that is existing. Fernelly met up with us and we went to a few bars and saw the end of an Austrian guitar player's set. He sang a cactchy little song about the deliciousness of strudel and the melody was stuck in my head for the duration of the evening. We then walked home from Alexanderplatz, about an hour and a half mission, and Tim was singing Macho Man and I stopped in 3 different bars on the way to ask for Leitungswasser (tap water) and Fernelly found a cool bike tire that is now part of our hallway decor. The dudes stayed up in the kitchen to talk, I'm guessing a continuation about the brilliance of Werner Herzog, and Pork and I had a really dope conversation about baaAAalaAAance and then about goofy shit like usual. Tim slept in our room and I think that's funny. Wednesday morning I woke up feelin' good and the sun was shining and I danced on the mattress to Motown hits and then Fern, Tim and I met up with another German, Lars, who I think is exceptionally dope, and we ate at my favorite Vietnamese restaurant on Karl Marx Straße and then went to Moe and Marcus' flat (2 more German buddies!) to say hi and continued on sans Fernelly to the Hasenhiede skate park where Lars skated and Tim and I watched a 40 something year old dude wearing 80's acid washed jeans with zipper pockets all over do the moon walk on his roller blades and we guessed was listening to Jacko on his walkman and I kept giving him a thumbs up. Oh and Tim let me put a bow in his hair and we went to a cool second hand store that had a bitchin gramophone player that I wish I could call my own. After, I went by my lonesome to visit Jessica and another Brazilian friend, Pedro, at Früh Perle, the bar where Fernelly works, and on my way home from there ran into my Italian friend Elisa and we walked around Neukölln and chilled on top of the grocery store Lidl drinking a beer and watching the sunset and she showed me the 2 pairs of rockin heels she found for 2 euros and we talked a lot and I am so happy to call her my friend. Back at Donaustr. (aka Home) we chilled with Jessica, Pork, and Jorge in the kitchen and LAUGHED SO MUCH for at least an hour straight and later went back to Früh Perle to visit Fern and I made a new German friend, Katherin, who used to live in Japan and is teaching German as a foreign language here and has a lot of cool tattoos which I think is exciting. We made plans to see Alice in Wonderland tonight, woo!. Jessica and Pedro spent the night and everyone went to the park in the morning but I went for a walk to Richardstraße to check out an outdoor flea market and drank a Club Matte and all I was wearing was jeans and a sweater and was so warm! Now I'm hanging in our room alone, a rare occurrence, and am SO excited that the Danes will be here in a couple of hours and Luke will be here in a couple of days and I am feeling really good and Spring is really wonderful and I really love my array of multinational friends and life is just really chiiiiiiiiiiiiill.
