Out & About

It is becoming evident that one of my favorite things to do in Berlin is go to the flea markets. I went to 2 last weekend with Martine (and 3 the weekend before), we had so much fun. We also got really lost ( I was navigating) and ended up walking around a new area I hadn't seen much of, Schöneberg, for 2 hours. Mo's girlfriend Sofia took me last weekend and we were meeting her again. Let's just say we showed up fashionably late. Sofia was still on the first row of tables when we finally arrived, it is a VERY good flea market.

The streets of Berlin:

There is really great artwork on a lot of the buildings. It's nice to look at, I'm glad people appreciate that here.

I like these doors. Martine loves sunflowers, she just got a tattoo of one last month in Barcelona!

"School Children!"

At first we thought these colorful pipes were construction, but they went on for blocks and then we realized we were in Berlin and mostly everything is art.

So little! These cars get me every time.

Photography on the street.

What a great bag to us on a bike!

This architecture is so cool. It makes me think of the Weasley's house in Harry Potter. Yes, I am always thinking of Harry Potter.

We came across an open air market filled with little trinkets and these amazing hats. Martine and I both bought one.

I don't know if I'd ever wear these, but I think they're creative. Especially the head of lettuce earrings.

Martine took this one, she was amazed at all of the eggs. I like the cute little old man.

haha.

Dancin in the streets.

We don't get it either.

We finally made it to our destination. This is Sofia. I was debating on buying this jacket.. the look on my face says it all, I didn't.

But Martine did buy this feather boa. She said she's always wanted one. I am so glad she did, one of us is wearing it around the flat every day.

I accidentally wore my dress backwards all day long.

Clark Gable, what a dream boat. Great photo, Martine!

She is starting a collection of porcelain dogs. This one is Mustafa (named after the best döner in town) and she brought her other, Aunt Helga, all the way from Denmark.

Some cool record covers.

Martine also found this multi-colored velvet blazer and wore everything together, fabulous.

Sofia is really great, we like a lot of the same music and fashion and Victorian/Baroque inspired everything. She can speak German and has been living in Berlin for 3 years. We are going to sign up for sewing class together.

Showing off our finds of the day. I bought a new set of Toile dishes and some grandpa cardigans and more vintage photos.

I really don't know what's going here, but I like it.

Cecilia went back to Copenhagen for a week to pack her things, so we went to the bus station to see her off. She'll be back for good on Sunday, I can't wait.

Back at the flat we chilled hard (big suprise) and Michael showed us The Helio Sequence videos on the computer and we listened to Paul Simon and Martine, Jana, and I danced to that one song that says "oh yes it's ladies night".

Then around 1am we decided to go out and walked around Mitte because the club we wanted to go to cost 6 euro and no one wanted to pay. Instead, we dressed Pork up in the hat and boa and watched him go up to girls on the street and try to hit on them in German by reading out of his humongous dictionary. At one point some girls on the metro actually got off before their stop and Pork yelled "is it because of me?!" haha. Then we went home and Mo bought a bunch of candy for everyone and Michael fell asleep like this:
