warpaint

susan and i are crazy about this band, Warpaint. they opened for little joy last week and we haven't stopped listening since. 3 chicks and a guy drummer. the bass player is SO DOPE. she inspired me to want to play bass. they also sing a song about Billie Holiday, which is an instant hit in my book, obviously. (have i ever mentioned this blog is named after one of her songs and she is absolutely my favorite artist of all time?) these girls have great vocals, are talented musicians, and have a pretty unique sound. i can't stop raving about them, check it out:











also, here's the only clip i could find from little joy's set.. kinda hard to hear the vocals, but you get the vibe. really happy and chill. fabrizio morretti was full blown raging, and that's always fun. this clip definitely doesn't do them justice, so if they come around again, i highly recommend attending.
